UHS Cheer Candidates,

We look forward to meeting you at the upcoming Cheer Tryouts. In the meantime, you MUST get the following forms completed and turned in to our Athletic Trainer (Mrs. Farley) as soon as possible. That will give Mrs. Farley time to look over all the forms and send you an e-mail clearing you for try outs. You will not be eligible to try out if you are not cleared by Mrs. Farley

You need to complete the following:

  1. Up-to-Date physical w/ Covid questionnaire form completed and approved by Mrs. Farley
  2. Completion certificates for FHSAA concussion and heat illness courses
  3. Proof of valid health insurance
  4. 2.0 GPA (for grades 10 – 12) *9th graders do not have a HS GPA yet, but will provide the coaches  with their last report card from middle school

Cheer Exercises:

25 jumping jacks

20 crunches

20 sit ups

10 pike ups

10 straddle ups

10 leg donuts (circles)

10 bicycles

1 minute wall sit

30 second planks (working your way up to 60 seconds)

Jogging safely in a proper area with proper social distancing.

 

CHEER TRYOUTS

Dates: August 25th – 28th

UHS Cheer Tryout Packet 2020 2021

  1. In Person Clinic: August 25th and 26th  3:30pm-6:00pm
  2. Actual In Person Tryout: August 27th  3:30pm-6:00pm
  3. Team Meeting and Fittings: August 28th  3:00-5:30pm

***During the clinic you will be taught a cheer, sidelines, a dance, cheer motions and review the  jumps (Toe Touch & Herkie) that you will be judged on at the actual Tryout.
