Cougars News · University Hires New Football Coach

University High School has hired its newest football coach, Coach Tyrone Sapp.  Coach Sapp has been a product of Orange County as a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School (99).  Sapp later went on to play college ball at Bethune-Cookman College.  Coach Sapp was the Head Football Coach at Oak Ridge High for the 2015 season. At Oak Ridge, coach accomplished an 8-3 record, playoff berth and a 2015 Metro Championship. Coach Sapp was also was selected as the 2015 Metro Coach of the Year.

Coach Sapp was the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Jones High. On campus, served as an Administrative Dean at Jones High for the last 3 years. At Jones. While at Jones High, he was able to help them achieve a record of 30-6, 2 District Championships, 1 Metro Championship and 3 playoff appearances.
