Walt Disney said it best, “Times and conditions change so rapidly that we must keep our aim constantly focused on the future.” Anyone who has been around University High School knows that the facilities have been in desperate need of a face lift. We are happy to say that we have taken a tremendous amount of pride in spearheading this problem in efforts to restore the roar here at University.
*This past summer we were able to install a new rubberized track with 8 lanes. The runways and the jump areas will be rubberized and relocated in the upcoming months. Along with the track, new protective mats were put in place for crossing the track with cleats.
*There has been additions to the home bleacher breezeways creating tunnels. There has also been all new flags and banners all along the stadium.
*New goal posts were installed on the game field and the practice field goal posts were repainted to give them a rejuvenated look.
*Most recently we have added a new scoreboard to the stadium to replace the original board that has been in place for 28 years!
This is just the beginning of the total refurbishment process. The projects upcoming are:
November-New gymnasium sound system, sandblasting the stadium in preparation for refacing.
Other projects on the books:
*Wrap/paint stadium and press box.
